Great to great Journey in Headache and Migraine
Comprehensive information about the different types of headaches, migraine, tension, cluster, menstrual, and spinal severe; and their causes, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment. Welcome to my journey. My journey were only available in 1987 when I commenced a Masters researching program at the University with South Australia. The results with this research were published in the international headache journal, Cephalalgia, and have influenced the management with cervicogenic (neck-related) headache sufferers. To 1991, I popular The Headache Clinic towards Adelaide, South Australia, on a became recognised nationally and internationally. Ever since then I have treated headache and migraine sufferers exclusively. I have now examined the necks with over 7000 headache and migraine sufferers and completed in excess of 14000 treatments. Now old-fashioned medicine doesn’t consider disorders of the neck to be mixed up in headache and migraine process, although my clinical experience suggests pretty strongly they do! During this period my fundamental purpose has been and is to determine if a neck disorder is the reason for or a significant contributing factor to headache as well as migraine – I believe that every headache sufferer has the right to know their own headache diagnosis as precisely as you possibly can, to learn the type of these headache disorder, its outcome and possible forms of treatment. Whilst my emphasis is on the neck as a source of headache, this doesn’t blind me to the possibility of other factors as the reason for headache – I recognise that not all headache comes from disorders of the neck and that headache might have more than one cause. However considering that the reason for migraine as well as other types of headache are not known it appears logical and reasonable that a skilled study of your neck occurs after the best assessment by your GP as well as Neurologist (and generally all of the tests are negative) and before medication is prescribed – this may prevent a lifetime tied to medication, a lifetime of checking whether you have your headache as well as migraine medication in your handbag before you go out! Current research implies that migraine is no hassle with the bloodstream and that tension headache just isn’t brought on by increased tension in the muscles of the scalp and forehead! More of that next time
